Scars have one very unpleasant characteristic and that is to limit the range of motion in the areas where they are located. Regular exercise is very important to prevent scar shortening and the development of deformities.

Especially in the initial stages, the scar tissue is extremely dynamic and active and tends to contract. If the scar extends over or near the joints, the pull of the scar will limit the range of motion. You can prevent this by active exercise – stretching. It is necessary to perform it several times a day according to the instructions. If active exercise does not help, passive splinting can be added to maintain the correct position of the joints and prevent contractures.
All three practices complement each other. Only by combining them will you achieve better scar healing.
